        <p>The following article deals with the worldwide problem of drinking water contamination caused by uncontrolled waste landfills. The population of the world is increasing and more waste is produced which needs to be disposed. Uncontrolled waste landfills are not managed and badly engineered, triggering the danger of groundwater pollution. By taking this groundwater as the first source for drinking water it could affect human health. The aim of this research is to present solutions to prevent groundwater pollution in a sustainable way. This article presents three different approaches to tackle this problem, compares their strengths and flaws and finally points out the best solutions measured by cost, effort and sustainability.</p>
