Application of light steel thin-walled structures opens up possibilities of erecting construction quality. Advantages of light steel thin-walled structures are reliability, long operating life, wide architectural opportunities, small unit weight, resistance to dynamic loads, fast assembly of structures, low operation value and chance of efficient monitoring and reconstruction. Furthermore, these structures are under construction both houses, and buildings and constructions of industrial function. Also, light steel thin-walled structures are very popular in Great Britain (20%), Sweden and Japan (15%), Canada (10%). Here means percent of general construction volume. For light steel thin-walled structures distribution in the Russian construction market, it is necessary to involve investments. “International association of light-gauge steel construction” was founded for development building technology with light steel thin-walled structures application.

The researches were carried out with by the large number of the statistical analyses by using the mathematical models, based on the Finite Element Method. The article contains the practical recommendations to the main provisions of the designing the Network arches according to the loads and code rules of Russian Federation – optimal ranges of the design general parameters values – the number of hangers, angle of the inclination, the rise of the arch and its geometrical shape.
Port planning is a multidisciplinary activity by nature. It involves expertise in the field of transport economics, shipping, nautical matters, safety and logistics. But also knowledge of waves and currents, sediment transport and coastal morphology, dredging and land reclamation, design of breakwaters and quays. Port planner, within the team of experts in different scopes, plays a central role in developing of modern handling solutions for sea ports and terminals. Russian standards of port planning are not relevant and calculations, which are based on those norms, often do not satisfy modern requirements. Unfortunately we are lagging behind world standards, foreign consulting firms already have good analytical skills and results in port planning modeling. For Russian specialists mastering of this methodology is a high priority mission.
