          <abstract lang="ENG">The article describes the calculation method of the payback period for the thermal protection measures. These measures are aimed at the increasing of thermal protection level achieved by the additional thermal insulation of the existing building's walls. The example of the calculation for the certain settlement with the specified climatic variables is also provided in the article.</abstract>

          <abstract lang="ENG">The article presents a comparative analysis of the construction of buildings with zero energy consumption in the Russian Federation and foreign countries. The objective is to analyze the effectiveness of this type of construction of buildings in this country, and the least expensive to develop the technology in construction. The object of investigation is considered building (laboratory), which will be built in April 2013 in Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University.The analysis shows that the construction of buildings with a zero-energy effective for the following reasons:&#13;
&#13;
- green buildings;&#13;
&#13;
- economically advantageous;&#13;
&#13;
- energy efficient.</abstract>

Modeling concept allow to get heat loss and heat gain information and also define optimal window structurewas introduced.</abstract>

          <abstract lang="ENG">The article provides information about consequence of the fall of space object to a built-up area of Chelyabinsk region and preventive measures to reduce the damage. Materials of article based on the results of expert surveys, mass media reports, net photo and video materials. The main purpose - is attraction of scientific attention and constructors’ community to the problem of structural safety of buildings in connection with new Outer origin threats manifestation. Damage analysis of industrial and civil buildings from meteorite explosion shock wave was performed, the conclusions to reduce the severity of the effects of this kind are formulated. Simulation results of possible scenarios of the fall of a meteor in the urbanized areas were performed by structural safety center specialists.</abstract>

          <abstract lang="ENG">Information technologies allows to decrease non-productive loss of teachers' labour; it turns a teacher into a technologist of modern educational process where the key part belongs not to the lecturing activity of a teacher, but to working (studying) activity of students. The structure and characteristics of learning materials for the course of Higher Mathematics are provided in the article. The materials for the chapters studied on the first year at the Faculty of Civil Engineering were developed and placed to the Moodle platform. The main unit includes - Data from the theory according to the section; Video lectures on the most important educational elements of the section; Homework for the section; Tasks and questions for self-checking; The List of knowledge, abilities, skills which the student as a result of section studying has to possess; Samples of tasks which can be put into control and test operations on the section. Blocks one and two contain tasks for self- -checking and quality control the received skills.</abstract>
