Abstract:

In this paper, the applicability of glass-reinforced plastic in the manufacture of small roofs, specifically roofs for mounted elevator shafts is considered. Advantages and disadvantages of polymeric composite materials are determined by comparing their composite modules with traditional roofing materials. The results obtained during the comparative analysis show that glass-reinforced plastic has a low weight, sufficient strength, high resistance to atmospheric action, conducts heat poorly, is corrosion-resistant and fire-resistant. All these properties provide structures with maintenance-free service life of more than 50 years. The results rationalize the feasibility of using glass-reinforced plastic in the manufacture of small roofs and prove necessity for its innovation in the field of construction and housing and utilities infrastructure
